Rebecca McKinney
Counsellor, Lecturer, Writer
I am a counsellor working in private practice and a Counselling Programmes Lecturer at Edinburgh College. I trained as a counsellor after a 20 year career in community development, social policy and research.
I was born in Boulder, Colorado and raised in Northern California before moving to Edinburgh in the nineties. I have studied at University of Colorado and hold a PhD in Social Anthropology from Edinburgh University.
I am passionate about the connections between mental health and social justice and am a member of the Therapy and Social Change (TaSC) Network.
Outside of my therapeutic work and teaching, I am a writer, blogger, parent and lover of the natural world.
